The Story Begins…

Run by women, built on tradition

Kairali began in 1990 in Tripunithura, Kerala, under VKP Industries. The aim was simple: make the coconut oil our grandmothers trusted. That means oil drawn from fresh coconut milk and slowly cooked into pure ventha velichenna (വെന്ത വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ), with nothing added.

Today Kairali is wholly women-owned and women-operated. Women choose the coconuts, make the oil, bottle it and send it to you. [Add founder name(s) and a short personal story here]

Questions, answered

What makes coconut milk oil different from regular coconut oil?

Regular coconut oil is usually pressed from dried copra. Kairali is made from fresh coconut milk, cooked by traditional methods. This gives it a pleasant natural aroma and keeps the goodness of fresh coconut.

Is it safe for babies?

Yes. Kairali has no additives or preservatives, and Kerala families have used this kind of oil for newborn massage for generations. As with any new product, do a small patch test first.

I see a little sediment in the bottle. Is that okay?

Yes. Kairali is pure oil with nothing added, so a little natural sediment can settle at the bottom. It does not mean the quality has gone down.

Why has my oil turned solid / white?

Pure coconut oil naturally turns solid below about 24°C. Keep the bottle in warm water for a few minutes and it will turn liquid again. This is a sign of purity.
